Who is Michael Phelps?

NO, he is NOT the swimmer! Sorry. Stormscape Photography is owned and operated by Mike Phelps. Mike has been a professional extreme weather videographer, photographer and meteorologist since 1989. His professional resume includes seven years as a meteorologist at The Weather Channel in Atlanta, Georgia; four years as an on-air meteorologist at KAKE-TV in Wichita, Kansas; one year as an on-site meteorologist for the PGA Tour; four years as a science teacher; and as a freelance broadcast audio specialist for the Olympics every two years. In addition, he also does freelance writing assignments for publications, and serves as a weather consultant, forecaster and nowcaster to other photographers, videographers and storm chasers tracking and shooting severe weather.

What is StormScape LIVE?

Stormscape LIVE specializes in high-quality live streaming video of extreme weather events; high-quality extreme weather videography and photography; extreme weather media guide services; extreme weather photography tours; forecasting and nowcasting servcies; and weather consulting.

We have been documenting extreme weather events for more than 20 years across the United States and the world.  Our video library contains more than 300 hours of high quality footage of every type of extreme weather, and our photographic library has more than 3,000 images.  Over two decades we have documented more than 150 tornadoes, five major hurricanes, and hundreds of other extreme weather events in all seasons.
